How the Penalty Fees Work

  • Great Lakes Energy charges several service fees every month and a non-recurring basis. You will be charging the reconnection fees, meter reading fees, field collection charges, returned check fees, and late payment fees.
  • Reconnection Fee: For the reconnection, after the service gets disconnected, you have to pay the reconnection fees. For the reconnection fees, you have to pay $40.
  • Field Collection Charge: if the customer representative connects the billing amount from your doorsteps, you have to pay the field collection fees of $40.
  • Returned Check Fees; If the bank returned your payment check for insufficient balance, you have to pay the returned check fee of $20.
  • Late Payment Fee: If you cannot make the payment for your bill within the due date, you have to pay the late payment fees. For the late payment, you have to pay 2% of the total due balance.
