HECO charges several fees, based on your monthly payment. You will be charged the late payment, reconnection, returned checks, and collection fees. You have to pay the following fees:
Late Payment: If you cannot make the payment by the due date, you have to pay the late payment fees. For the late payment fees, you have to pay 1% of the past due balance.
Returned Check: If your check is returned by the financial institution due to an insufficient balance, you have to pay the returned check fees of $16.
Collection: If the HECO representative visits your home to collect the billing amount, you have to pay the collection fees of $20.
Reconnection: For the reconnection, after the service is disconnected, you have to pay reconnection fees of $45.
